About this site
Wildlife Data Management is an independent guide to the tools, data standards and good practice used to collect, manage and share wildlife data: camera-trap images, tracking data, acoustic recordings, remote sensing, field observations and citizen-science records.
It is meant for researchers, conservation organisations, land managers and volunteers who want a plain overview of their options before they choose a workflow.
Who maintains it
This site is maintained by Untamed Data B.V., which also builds one of the tools listed, a platform for camera-trap images and video. We want this to be useful no matter which tool you choose, so the listings follow the rules below.
Editorial rules
- Alphabetical order. Tools are listed alphabetically, with no ranking.
- Same format for every tool. Each listing uses the same fields and the same level of detail.
- No paid placement. Nobody can pay to be listed, featured or ranked higher.
- No special placement for Untamed Data. Its tool is listed under the same rules as every other tool.
- Facts, not verdicts. Listings describe what a tool is and does, based on its public documentation.
Corrections and suggestions
If a listing is wrong or out of date, or you want to suggest a tool, email info@wildlifedatamanagement.com. We review every message and correct factual errors.
